Ride Description
This is western Pennsylvania’s second brevet, and we have routed it on roads we typically ride on clubs rides.  This route is rides north from Pittsburgh and travels through Mars, Slippery Rock, passes Grove City, with a turn-around point in Sandy Lake, PA.  Returns via similar route, with a control added in Evans City.  Of course the route has hills and climbs as the entire route is climbing from the river value up a plateau, but this course is typical hilliness rather than extreme in any way.  Between Grove City and Sandy Lake, the course can even be described as “rolling flat”, from a Western PA perspective.

General Info
This ride is a randonneur style event sanctioned by RUSA.  Western Pennsylvania Wheelmen  club membership is required in order to participate ($17 per year).  In the spirit of pure randonneuring, minimal support is provided before, during, and after the ride.
